Boston might look to get more than the 2025 first as this team on paper is probably contending for the presidents trophy

Of all of the core group to move on from, it isn't William Karlsson. One of the most underrated and consistent defensive centers in the entire league. Huge part of Vegas and often times one of the only players on Vegas that is actually committing to defense. There is no shot they move Karlsson, and most certainly not for a couple very low odd lottery picks. That 2nd is most likely an early 3rd considering that the Devils should be at least a top 3-5 team in the league.

If I am Vegas and trading Karlsson to NJ, I would be asking for Holtz and Nemec. Not a couple picks.

Holtz a conversation can be had about. Nemec is crazy talk.

maybe this years first but not a chance in hell Bos is taking a future first and nothing more. add holtz in or bahl and a prospect and u have the start for him.
William Karlsson is surely not the guy there gonna move on from in the core. theres a better chance they try to just dump hertl on a team then trade one of the core players for the last 5 years

Helping out that cap situation alone isn’t worth both Holtz and Nemec. Holtz by himself could absolutely be a conversation, but the price to the former 2nd overall pick after an extremely promising rookie season is going to be a lot more than William Karlsson

Boston would need to add, to land the 10th overall pick

The value of Karlsson goes up when NJ calls for Karlsson and Vegas says they don't want to move him. So if NJ wants him that bad, the price goes up. I think that you are absolutely undervaluing Karlsson significantly in the first place, by the way. In a normal world, he is worth around a 1st + established player/prospect.

Plus, again, it's not just helping out the cap situation. If they move Karlsson, who is on a team friendly deal for what he brings, they'll immediately be looking to bring back the same type of player on that same type of contract... aka William Karlsson. He isn't the guy to be moved if they want to clear cap. And most certainly not for all that nothing

no they wouldnt. ullmark is a vesna goalie whos been a top 10 goalie the last 3 years and goalies have already been traded for similar value when ullmark is better then every single one of them.

these are solid goalies that got better overtime. hes easily worth the 10oa and an asset if varlmov was worth 11 and 2nd round and freddy a first and 2nd. stop undervaluing goalies and over valuing pick #s
