Struggling to figure out what the Stars are gonna do, lot of tough decisions to make.
Gave Duchene and Tanev more term than preferred in order to pull down AAV cap hits.
Taking chance with Murray as backup as rookie
Trade gives Lundkvist a chance to be in a bigger and more offensive role, Faksa a solid bottom-6 pro for a rising young team. In return Stars take RFA Valimaki on bottom pair and sign to 2 yr deal to see if he can anchor beyond Suter’s deal.
Thinking Dadonov could be a potential waiver / bury candidate so additional depth could be added / called up when needed, etc.
Still too tight with limited depth for my liking, wanted to see the thought, but will also look at other options. Tough offseason, especially while trying to maintain contender status.
