I think the difference in cap hit after Rantanen’s next contract, if he was even willing to sign in Ottawa, makes it a bit tough for the Sens, but at the same time, Rantanen is obviously like… yeah if Brady was gonna get traded then I’d have a hard time about Mikko fing Rantanen coming back the other way

Why trade Mikko and his three consistent years of near or above 100 points for a guy whose personal best is 83?

Why trade Sammy, who demonstrated again this year that the team just plays better with him on the ice, for a guy who essentially brings the same production for the same cost at the same age?

There is no way Ottawa is doing that trade, mainly because I believe Rantanen wouldn't sign an extension here. This is just going to be a worse Cat situation as we'd be giving up so much more.

I believe Tkachuk would surpass his personal best of 83 playing on the Avs and Ranaten would instantly become the Sens best player. Its up to them to over pay him to stay, not sure we ill be able to afford his next contract without putting ourself in cap hell.
Chychrun and Girard are far from the same production and Chychrun is 4" taller and 50lbs heavier. Girard simply isn't built for playoff hockey, not sure we could of won the blues series let alone the cup with him. The avs need a shake up after 2 embarrassing playoff runs. We should be watching this team 3 peat. This trade makes us harder to play against in the playoffs and opens up much needed capspace.

OTT is not trading Brady for a player 3 year older than him and who will want 5M more than he is making for zero difference in points total ( Brady on a COL, FLA hits 100 points easy)
