Description

I am reading that Sens checked in on Ullmark at deadline, I also read that Bruins were connected to Brannstrom. $3M feels right for a bridge deal for him.

Maroon wants to come back, Neely loves slow old goons, so I gave Pat the same deal as Lucic in summer of 2023.

I have a feeling JDB is coming back , so I gave him full term and a $2M raise.

Threw $1M at Pickard to be Swayman's caddy- you can swap in any other veteran backup for this term, doesn't have to be Pickard. Just some insurance in case Bussi isn't ready for 30 games in the show.

Montgomery is in the media begging the front office for more goal scoring touch. Threw $7.5M X 7 years at Guentzel. Figure one of Guentzel Reinhart, Marchessault, etc gets a deal in this range from the Bruins. I went with Guentzel because the Bruins loveeee pursuing American players. Connecting the dots, but could be anyone.

Crucially, you will notice I did not address the Center position. This team has $22.5M in projected cap space on 7/1/25 because I am hoping that Bruins will pursue Leon Draisaitl once he becomes a UFA.

Honestly I remember him only as the big prize for Stone, right? From a Sens fan perspective, what is a package that would be a true "hockey trade"? What is our version of the Middelstadt for Byram trade?

You signed Bussi and Pickard so one will most likely be picked up off waivers. DeBrusk will be closer to 5mm for 6 or 7 years and Guentzel will want 9mm plus!! Sweeney will definitely get a center who’s plus 50% on the dot before he gets a 3rd line LD.

I disagree with waiting a whole year in the hopes that Draisaitl doesn't re-sign with EDM. BOS is in a great position to be a top contender next season, but they won't be if they run it back with the same top6 C. They need to get a 1C this off-season, either by free agency or trade.

Also, Stamkos would be a terrible option for 1C, and Guentzel is getting around $2M more in the open market.
