As much depth as this could supply, I'd almost argue the 1st could be more valuable to NYI than all those 2nds. Haven't had a first round pick since Holmstrom in 2019

I like the idea of building draft capital for the next 2 years since we can either use them at the deadline or build for the future
Hot take Lee at 50% gets a 1st

I want to make a first round selection this year but outside of 12 guys, I don't want anyone else. I agree we don't need second round prospects but the truth is the guy we take at 18 or so isn't much better than the guy we take at 50. But for next season I believe its gonna be the guy who goes 30th OVR is better than this years guy who goes 18th, because this draft SUCKS. Like why is Michael Hage gonna be a first rounder?? 2023 he goes in the third round at the earliest.

As much as I want to resupply our prospect pool with top guys its not happening, so I have to accept we will attempt to contend at least through next season. This allows us a few things. We gain assets that always have value, allowing us to either trade the picks in the 2024-25 season to fill in holes we need to contend, or if we suck, to stockpile on draft picks.

Lee half reatined gets a 1st IMO, but I didn't wanna deal with the comments.

Oh I get that 100%. I am fine trading our first for more picks, given our draft record good chance we whiff and hell there is potiental those 2nds become better than the first rounder we traded plus have depth in an already sh*tty prospect pool would go a long way

Can't lie I don't mind us moving up in the draft. I know there's other Bolts fans who don't care about picks so long as it adds a roster player but I'm chill with it if there's a dude we want in that range. Having no 2nd next year might be a bit risky if UFA negotiations don't play out the way we want though.

I wouldn't mind landing one of Andrew Basha, Terik Parascak Cole Hudson. All are projected to go after us at 18 but I like them all more than Connelly Boisvert and Hage who are projected 18,19,20.

RF doesn't trade firsts so easy pass from Seattle.
