Trading a top 10 pick is probably one of the dumbest things to do. No Smart GM would so something like that. Why the only recent GMs to do it were Dorion & Benning.

You can go after guys like Bennett in FA or trade much less than a top 10 pick. Doing something like that just prolongs the drought.
