1. LET THE KIDS PLAY - lappiere looks like the caps best forward, sandin looks like the caps best d man, mcmichael has shown upside, protas has shown upside as a very good playmaker, Stevenson has been lights out in the AHL, Leonard has torn up college hockey and capitals management believe he is ready and it is up to him when he makes the jump, and Miro has showcased really good offensive upside in recent games. Ovi and carlson have looked brutal so give them the reins and ride with them.
2. Trade one goalie (most likely Lindgren) to get some draft capital and make room for Stevenson
3. Trade dowd as his value will never be higher and Sgarbossa has done a fine job in is absence. There is reportedly a lot of interest and his value is around a 1st so that should be taken advantage of
4. I assume Oshie LTIRetires as he has struggled to put together any extended stretch of health. If he decides to run it back there is plenty of cap space to welcome him back.
5. Caps need to revamp their blueline but are not in a place to be trading valuable prospects and first-rounders for established defensemen. Liljegren makes sense both from an age standpoint and he has talent capitals that men don't have. He can be given an opportunity to shine and polish his game and play alongside his old teammate and country men.
