NYR trading Kakko for a package like that is more of an offseason move. In the offseason, our biggest needs are a 3c and LHD with a decent cap hit and term. Turcotte & Anderson for Lindgren (RFA) and Kakko (RFA) is more along the lines of what would work, with picks on either side to even it out.

With Perreault, Othmann, Sykora & Berard we just have too many wingers in the future.

Nashville declines. Neither of the prospects or Talbot interest them. Needs to be centered around Byfield.

Saros is good but not fantastic this year. QB, as well as Clarke are untouchable and Byfield itself is already worth more than Saros. Preds are too aggressive with their asking price for Saros. Bostons seems to have a more realistic evaluation for Ullmark, who is better than Saros so far. If the Preds keep being unrealistic with their asking price, nothing is going to happen with Saros

Kings are not going to trade Anderson, especially not for Lindgren. Andersons contract is a steal and he will not be moved. Also, what is the reason of the swap of Turcotte and Kakko? Turcotte is just getting started in LA

There are really too many things that are not working:
1: Cap Space?!
2: Draft pick drought for 2 years: no 1st and 2nd rounder and only one 3rd rounder until 2026? That is absolutely awful
3: way too much to give up in the Saros scenario
4: I like Chychrun but I like him better when we don’t have to give up a 1st rounder and Turcotte who is finally getting started.
5: But: if Kakko can show consistency, the deal could pay off for NYR and LAK

You can't look at Nashville roster and think that without Saros they would be remotely close to where they are. Saros steals games for them on a nightly basis and thats fine if Byfield is untouchable because LA cant make the deal work anyway. Last years deadline was the time to make a Saros deal.
