Hartman must waive, so this is very, very unlikely, but looking for value assessment not just on paper but with team needs, injury concerns etc. all included. Sens have to convince Hartman that he can be a major piece in their "next step" and it'll be special, etc etc etc.
The Senators are looking to add character players to take some of the leadership load off of Tkachuk and Giroux. They exchange C Josh Norris for versatile C/RW Ryan Hartman, a gritty veteran presence of the type they are trying to add. They also receive UFA-to-be winger Brandon Duhaime, who can play both sides. The intent would be to re-sign him to be a gritty presence in the bottom six. They seem to be giving up on guys like Kastelic and possibly MacEwen and Sokolov, according to maybe 32 Thoughts podcast that I listened to the other day (memory not perfect)? Still Tarasenko and Kubalik to trade (Kubalik is only on the 3rd line here to showcase a bit more for a better return, but I think Joseph belongs there). Roll the top 3 lines equally and give the 4th line spot duties for rest time, energy shifts etc. The cap savings for Ottawa on a player they are probably always anxious about is a big factor for them too. Maybe the Wild won't be so anxious?
Tkachuk - Stutzle - Batherson
Greig - Pinto - Hartman/Giroux
Kubalik - Giroux/Hartman - Tarasenko
Joseph - Kelly - Duhaime
Minnesota takes a fairly big chance on a player with the injury history he has, but if he can stay healthy and find a groove, then they get a center in Norris who could be an absolute stud for them. The dead cap hits of Parise and Suter drop to $833,333 after next season. Hartman's $2.7m raise kicks in next season so they save on that, while Fleury's $3.5m is off the books, as is Goligoski's $2m. There should be room to fit Norris for next season and then the year after is when they can start getting really creative. If Norris can be peak Norris, then having near-point-per-game Eriksson-Ek pushed to the second line wouldn't be the worst thing if the Wild could let loose Kaprizov and Norris together.
When healthy:
Kaprizov - Norris - Zuccarello
Boldy - Eriksson-Ek - Johansson
Foligno - Rossi - Gaudreau
Maroon - Dewar - Lettieri
OR
Kaprizov - Eriksson-Ek - Boldy
Johansson - Norris - Zuccarello

Next season when Rossi is more seasoned, perhaps try Norris (or Rossi) at LW?
Kaprizov - Eriksson-Ek - Boldy
Norris - Rossi - Zuccarello (vet presence for two young'uns)
Foligno - Gaudreau - Johansson
Dewar (RFA) - Shaw (RFA) - TBD
