Very similar Nashville trade to a trade I have in my many unpublished teams though mine has Sissons with retention rather than Trenin and a slight difference in picks and prospects but close. Any of those would be good targets for the Avs imo. I like Seeler but think PHI probably wants more and MacDermid you have to factor in for the Avs as they almost certainly aren't moving him (though they should if they can). RyJo doesn't cost a 1st to move. Better to give up a 2nd (though I still say a 3rd is enough) for FCs than pay a 1st for a 3rd & 7th.

Since the flyers are in a playoff position, i think they would rather have seeler than that return. However they might be willing to move him for a Johansen cap dump since they are thin at center. Maybe Seeler for Johansen and a 1st? That also allows the Flyers to move Laughton if they want to. Just a thought.

Johansen and Torts have a history, I highly doubt either would want a reunion

Sissons with retention would be a very nice 4C but idk if the avs would trust Novak as a 2C. Hes a guy that’s young and could be a long term solution though so it would be interesting.

Yeah something of a gamble (Novak) and a lot would also depend on what he'd sign for long term. Really do like the look of him though. I've been saying Sissons would be a good add for the Avs some time but somehow he seems to have an almost invisible full NTC in Nashville lol.

Veteran center that you might possibly be able to flip at $2m for a mid-round pick sometime before the next deadline. And add a late first that you can bundle with some of the extra seconds or thirds to try to move up.

Definitely worth considering.

Thats certainly possibly. Johansen said Torts was tough on him and benched him a few times but I got the impression it wasn’t all bad history.

That fair RyJo mentioned that he and Torts were good. But Torts called him out of shape and Johansen was traded less than 6 months after Torts became the coach in Columbus.
