Yeah, I think that'll be the case too, I honestly believe they'll just tease the rest of the league with the thought to see what everyone will offer, then if he gets even better next year, they'll probably trade him for twice the best offer they'd be getting this year for him

That “rumor” was BS made up by a local podcast host to try & get attn for his crappy show
Andrew Peters is an even worse journalist than he was a hockey player

We most likely sign Mitts to the same type deal we signed Tage & Cozens to- something in the neighborhood of 7x7

Mitts at 7x7... Wow, that seems more ridiculous than this trade

He’s gonna hit 70pts this year
What do u think a 70point center on a long term deal makes??

He’s also one of our best 2way forwards
Your comments are showing me u just don’t know much at all about Mitts

And what happens next year when he shows he'll end up being a one hit wonder? So many players have done so, sign a big deal then fall of the face of the earth, I personally believe that Mitts will probably take a 5x5 kind of deal

Mitts has finally stayed healthy the last TWO YEARS,
where we’ve seen him take a BIG LEAP forward in his development

But your classification of Mitts as a “one hit wonder” is off, if not just plain wrong- and really shows u don’t know much about him
59pts last year
Gonna hit 70pts this year, AND his all around play has really developed as well

And there just isn’t a basis for your expectations that he falls back to earth
It might happen, it might not
But He’s gonna get paid, bc he deserves to get paid

And regardless of all this back n forth,
AGAIN…. we just aren’t trading him
It’s not happening…. and certainly not for “futures”
