Description
Here are a handful of trade ideas for the caps at the deadline. Lots of caps space going into the off season. Moving on from older players as well. Time to offload for now, and reload for next year. They will need to add a few FA guys to compete next year.

Not sure if we would take Max back for free after his words when leaving. Were CERTAINLY not paying a premium pick for him

Could be any team., I just used VGK cause he’s been there before. I think a playoff team would easily pay a 2nd rounder for a 2nd line goal scorer.

Max probably doesn't want to go back to Vegas anyways....

A playoff team would pay a 2nd (probably more of a 3rd with his recent play) for 50% retention...easily...assuming Max waives

All of that looks about right though I don't know if Mantha gets a 1st back, maybe a 2nd+

Also, no way ANA does that trade though I loved it if they did.

He’s never been on waivers. Devils have given up like the 5th most goals in the league. Could use some help in net.

Mantha - EDM could use some secondary scoring, mantha is a big body with a much improved year from last season. I’ve included the 5th to sweeten the trade. I def think the caps look to add a first rounder.

Zegras - it’s a pipe dream from a caps fan. I’d be willing to move even more for him.

He’s been on waivers 3 seperate times.

Charlie Lindgren has been a career AHLer/Backup goalie his entire career.

He had 6 games in November where he was fantastic. Since then back to what he was before.

Caps have not waived him once, his play has improved. Better SV% than any of NJ goalies. Maybe not the right player / price for NJ to pick up but help in net would be great for them.

Meh. Goaltending is volatile and Daws+Vitek have been fine lately.

Unless it’s for a hammer no point moving meaningful assets.

NJD should be prioritizing a puck moving LD who can kill penalties
