After losing Shattenkirk, Alzner and Schmidt this offseason, Washington trades a mid round pick 2 years down the road for Gorges. He has 1 year left, has playoff experience and can play bottom pair LHD minutes , block shots and kill penalties. His salary is not prohibitive and for a team that still wants to contend, they make this trade instead of signing someone to a multi year deal or off the trash heap.

Thank you for keeping Deslauriers off of the the top 12 forwards.
I definitely like your top 6. Moulson earned an opportunity to play with Okposo and ROR. Maybe Larsson on the 3rd line. IMO he earned that spot as well.
This is a reasonable team. good effort.
I think I would keep Gorges as a 7th D-man than trade him. but not bad to do it now.
I would like to see the sabres sign any 2 or 3 among the following forwards: Gionta, Vanek. Fisher, King or Winnek. Our bottom 6 would be awesome.
