Description

This scenario presumes that the Oilers have a fairly successful 17/18 season and that most of their pending RFA's have good years.

If so, they're already into CHI/PIT territory where they have to start making tough decisions about cost-cutting trades.

Talbot will get a raise, and they'll likely want to lock up Poolparty on a long-term deal too. This team will look a lot different in a couple years.

Don't see Benning or Strome getting that much Drake would have to have a pretty great season I feel like Drake is more 2.5. Benning a 2.5 bridge and Strome more like 3.5 unless he has great chemistry with Connor or Leon and has his best year yet.

audibly laughed when i saw the salary on some of these guys lol strome for 5, 4.5 for benning, 3.5 for drake? even Drai at 9M should get Chiarelli fired

Bridge deals may be the only way to keep cap hits under control. If the Oilers continue to improve it's almost a guarantee that guys like Strome and Benning are going to pad their stats.
