No cap space for a 13th F especially with Fast missing a month or more.

Too much upside going out, I certainly wouldn't! We should Not trade JTM, Hayes or Vesey! Nash or Kreider Yes.

As an Avs fan, i am 100% ok with that trade. NYR are in win now mode getting duchene is a big boost especially for a team needing a centre, and the Avs get young NHL ready players that can help accelerate the rebuild. I like it

ummmm no. They would be smart to do that trade. Miller scored 56 points last season (which is more than duchene, although duchene was on a down year so i still think duchene is better overall), anthony deangelo is a good young defenseman who is already NHL ready and will help them in the future too, and the 1st round pick just adds another top prospect for the future (although the pick will probably be a very late 1st rounder casue NYR will likely go far in the playoffs after adding duchene).

I really like this idea, even though I love JT. I think they want to keep him for another year and see how it goes. As much as I would like Duchene, I think Deangelo is our next Shattenkirk. Giving him up is giving away a big piece to our puzzle. Maybe they do, Vesey, Graves, 1 round pick 2018, 2nd round pick 2019

the cap space is an issue that I thought of as well, was thinking maybe move Holden to Boston for a mid round pick and the much needed money to add the extra forward.

While Miller is a solid winger who still has upside, you have to give to get. Deangelo is a nice blue chip, but if we are talking about winning while hank is still around, shattenkirk will do everything deangelo can and more.

Look, 1st line centers arent just hanging from trees, you have to give to get. Duchene in a down year had a better year as a center than Miller did. That is not taking into account playing for a bad team, or the fact that he has had some elite seasons previously. He is still young, and can do everything on the ice, including win faceoffs which we are in dire need of. We still don't know what Deangelo or a 2019 pick are going to be, so if Miller is the major cost of the trade, sign me up!

I absolutely love the rebuilt defense, but the rangers will not win without adding a stepan replacement. How many more Hank years would we like to waste?

PS. another way to look at this is:

Derek Stepan
JT Miller
Anti Raanta
2019 1st rounder (20 something overall)

for

Mat Duchene
2017 1st rounder (7th overall)
