Description
The trade is based on Avs's need for defensemen, our need for cap space, a forward with good potential, and a pick or two. Those probably wouldn't be the exact terms of the trade, but a Duchene trade most likely isn't happening so this is a decent consolation prize. This opens up space for Fish to return, sign our RFA's, and bring in a pick or two and a talented young winger.

Okay so maybe the Preds don't get a 1st. That was very wishful thinking on my part, but the Avs still desperately need defensemen and Emelin would provide veteran help there. The Preds aren't giving up a king's ransom for Duchene, but they can at least pluck a young forward and maybe a pick from the Avs instead. That's not out of the realm of possibility.
