the fact that the guy that got promoted from syracuse was koepke was so suprising to me, he was probably my 7th option and he hasn't even played that bad so it would only make sense to try more guys from syracuse imo. I would probably even take it a step further and give the team a completely new look for like 2 or 3 games

Over a quarter into the season and I'm genuinely confused and irritated as to why we haven't given Max Groshev and Jack Thompson or anyone else from Syracuse a look. Groshev might be someone who can develop into a top six winger we need and Thompson would probably be eager enough to learn whatever atrocity of a system we're playing now- playing next to Hedman or Sergy he could be the young 21 year old top-4 dman to replace Perbix/Raddysh on the right. Being this inconsistent this far into the season should be cause of concern, but I'm genuinely not sure what anyone in management is thinking at this rate.

groshev's entire development has been so messed up from the start, from never playing in the KHL because of SKA St.Petersburg to coming here and killing it in the prospect showcase and preseason to playing on the 4th line to start the AHL season and occasionally getting 3rd line minutes. Only like 4 games ago was he moved from the 3rd to the 1st line and he's still not on either powerplay and is on the 2nd PK unit . Also Thompson going into this year had a pretty good offensive game but needed work defensively but this year he has been insanely good defensively and his offense has seen improvement too. Thompson is especially good at keeping the puck in the zone during powerplays which our current defensemen struggle at. I would understand not giving goncalves time yet because he has looked kinda shakey but thompson and groshev have been very good and should have already seen a few NHL games
