Colorado needs a 2nd line center, not a forward. They have skilled wingers, and losing both Landy and Kadri exposed them as not having a 2nd line center. So can not see this happening

there's just no way. players with this kind of cap hits don't get traded. And if Landy is done, Avs already have a top-15 position guy they'd prefer to bring back with that cap...

okay, sorry - it's been done recently (so recently i forgot), but I am saying it's not a good idea. PIT is not interested in long-term viability - they have to go for it right now. and EK did not get 2 firsts. COL has a bigger window.

Anyway, the Avs' needs are not what Panarin brings - as much as I love him as a player. Star power scoring is not the problem - depth and defense are (probably) the problem next offseason. If Landy is done done, they'll first try and sign Toews, which is likely going to make Panarin even at $7mil not feasible.
