I really don't think Pens get Duchene.. they're asking way too much. I think another trade with the Avs are more realistic without having to give up too much and keeping a solid roster with solid FA signings, with enough room to sign another depth forward if needed.

I think Rowney has earned his spot as the 4C.

Why? Why would the Pens make that trade? Is Barrie at $4M/yr so much better than Määttä at $4M/yr that we'd give up Rust, a 1st, and a 3rd?

Why do the Pens need another offensive defensemen? We have TWO 50 plus point defensemen in Schultz and Letang. AND Malkin plays the point on the top PP. So why Barrie?

Barrie also plays for Colarado. If he played on a better team he might be Derrick Pouliot, struggling for a roster spot. Why not just put Pouliot in the line up and save the assets for something that would actually help the team. You'll also trading Sheary (53pts in 61 gms ), Rust (28pts in 57gms), and 1st and 3rd ... for a 3rd offensive defensement that was a -34 last year?

You down graded you're 3rd line Center from Bonino to Weal (hasn't played much), and your 4th line Center from Cullen to Rowney (which is not that big a deal if you're 3rd line center were more legit) losing 2 top 6 wings that are 25 yr old RFAs ...

And why McElhinney? League has a lot of decent goalies that need to move, via Free Agency or Trade. Why the 34 yr old with 1 playoff gm in his career?
