Not bad. I just cannot figure out why so many people dislike Bonino. Everyone keeps replacing him with older or more expensive players. Bonino would come in between $3M to $4M/yr, that's cheap for a shot blocking machine who played in the Finals on a broken leg. So why trade away Hagelin to get Bozak when you could simply re-sign Bonino and likely for cheaper?

I didn't resign Bonino because he has around 10 teams wanting him. So, as we all know, that means he will be grossly overpaid. Therefore, why not trade a winger that Toronto would love (who might replace JVR if the rumors hold up) for a center that had a large amount of success with Phil Kessel?

But does Bozak block shots and PK? He had 55 pts last year and is an UFA at seasons end, so he's unlikely to resign either, though I think the trade you propose is definitely acceptable, even with that.

Bonino's skill set is that of a 3rd liner, even if his production is pretty darn sweet, that's also seeing shifts with Kessel, Horny, Rust, etc. as they move up and down out lines and on the 2nd power play, ONLY because Geno plays the point. He blocks shots and is great on the PK. I wouldn't pay him more than $4.5, no matter what team I'm the GM off. It's like J. Staal as your #1 center. It's an over reach who salary and place on the depth chart hinders your team. There should be only a few teams in the league willing to sign Bonino at $4.5m plus and ALL should be cup contenders trying to get over the hump. It doesn't help to pick him up at $5m 3 years just to try to make the playoffs.

Montreal, OTT, Nashville, Bruins, NYR, Leafs, MIN and CBJ. How many have the cap space and need at center?
