I guess the "pipedream" of whether or not Dumba will accept that meager a contract depends on how desperate he is and/or how important winning is to him. Friedman reported that the Coyotes are apparently very interested in him and have the roster and cap space to sign him to term and salary like he'd want - but is Dumba willing to play the next 5-6 years in a rebuild?
Evolving Hockey had originally forecasted Dumba at a $4.4M x 4 deal before free agency started; with the market now shrinking and a lot of signings going with short term because of the expected jump in the league cap in 2024-25. Dumba may have to accept a drop from his $6M level.
