I don't think it matters much. AL is just such a tossup right now it's hard to know what GMs and the rangers think his current value even is. If it's a 2nd line, maybe still first line player, this seems fair. If it's a 3rd line guy, Ottawa might need more

I would 1000% take this deal, sucks about branny but with an extension to Cat, NYR should be all over this.
Ottawa get a player who fits the timeline in Laf, goodrow might not be worth that contract but sure would help the depth in a major way, and lindgren would honestly be fine playing with JBD.
Switch the picks and that is imo a win-win
