There would be no grounds for Bettman to veto the trade... as far as I know, there are no CBA or league restrictions that would nullify this trade

I get they are trying to compete but I think that is a pretty good offer... I can totally see why that might not interest them

AZ would only move keller for huge overpay (which this is not), why would they trade Keller he is young, the biggest star of the team, most popular player, good contract for years.
the GM has said the rebuild is over 50% complete this sets back couple of years.

That's a totally fair point... given his long-term contract, scoring ability, and his style of play, I thought he'd be a pretty good fit on an RBA team

I think the low-salary space for Vegas is deciving... Vegas is almost certainly going to put Lehner on LTIR and you would've had enough space to put together the roster even with Riley's contract on the book. The Devils just took advantage of Calgary's lack of cap space
