Schmaltz has never been over a ppg player. Why not just keep Kuzy?

completely over valued barabonov and schmaltz. i don’t understand where you possibly could have gotten the idea that barabonov was worth a first. and schmaltz has never been ppg in his career. the 8th ovr pick and a prospect like lappiere lands you a superstar. not schmaltz.

I don't know, Barbs has had two very solid back to back seasons on arguably the worst team in the entire league. I'd say he's worth an incredibly low (29th oa) first round pick. Lord knows worse players have been traded for higher value.

Do you really need to give up a pick that early to get Mantha off the books? He's a solid player even if overpaid. I guess that's kinda the economy with so many teams cap scrappy though.

Anyway, I'd gladly take that. Free 2nd for CBJ and maybe they can add another 2nd at the deadline by flipping him with retention depending how he plays.

Schmaltz could easily be a ppg player if he wasn't on the coyotes. And he has a solid cap hit and term left so the 1st seems reasonable. Maybe you don't need to include Lapierrez but he's not going to be a stud. Barabonov is worth essentially a high 2nd

Because kuzy wants to be traded and schmalts has similar production on a much worse team. And schmaltz has term left at a reasonable cap hit and is in his prime. On a better team he could easily be a ppg player

I'd gladly do the trade for a 3rd, but I don't see a lot of teams going for that
