*Washington doesn’t do that*

Nothing there worth 8th overall, not even close.

Raddysh is not a 2nd pair D on the Capitals and no one trades out of the Top 10 for 3rd Liners and average prospects. Also Pit doesn’t make that trade so the hypothetical 6 spots is imaginary.

Raddysh is a forward.
Why wouldn't PIT do the trade, they get rid of one of the worst contracts in the league?
For a 6 spot drop, 2 NHLers, a prospect, and a 3rd is normal.

Just answer this. How many times since the Salary Cap was implemented was a Top 10 Pick traded in the history of the NHL? Then look at what you are proposing here and tell me if you think this pile of crap you’re offering here is enough for a Top 10 pick. If you’re trying to trade 2 players, 2 picks, and a prospect you know that you’re offering a pile of crap worth less than the pick. When Top 10 picks have been traded, they’ve been traded for ONE thing (Player), what one thing would you offer Washington to trade that pick because a pile of pieces worth less than the pick are not enough and adding a bunch of pieces to a worse pick in the teens simply never happens for Top 10 picks.

Mikael Granlund had 41PTs this season. For $5M he’s arguably overpaid but there are plenty of far, far worse contracts in the League. There’s no chance the Penguins trade a 1st to move him.

Ristolinen for the 14th, 39th, and Hagg
OEL/Garland for 9th, 47th, and others
Romanov for the 13th
Dach for the 13th
11th for 27, 34th, and 45th
Mrazek cap dump to move 25th from 38th

Is that enough?

Literally one of those trades involved a Top 10 pick ****. And it was the OEL/Garland trade. Do you think teams are in a rush to repeat that disaster?

5 lottery trades with a lot of movement. It happens, and you're definitely overvaluing the 8th pick, and the Caps aren't rebuilding at the moment.

The only trade you cited involving a Top 10 pick was a worse pick (9th) than the Caps current pick (8th) and it involved OEL, Garland, and others who at the time were obviously superior to what Connor Murphy and Raddysh are today. Phillips is not a good enough prospect and again Chi isn’t going to have Pit 1st.

That package is certainly not enough to bridge that significant gap in value between this and the OEL/Garland trade and nothing in that package motivates the Caps to trade that pick. You’re delusional and need to stop trying to justify this terrible trade.
