1. Petry had a decent year. As an offensive dman, he was mostly on 2nd pairing and 2nd PP and was on a 40-point pace. If he is next to MP28 next year and they give Letang a legitimate top partner, he will be fine. Stop dealing him to Detroit or buying him out.
2. I know it is hard to believe, but Jarry is our best option. There are no better FAs when considering age and skill. On the trade front, a lot of teams do not want to move their goalie, or will command a lot, and it might not be worth it when Jarry wants to stay. If you want to move DeSmith to bring in a 1B type of goalie, then do it, but I believe that Jarry should be the starter.
3. It is extremely unlikely that Carter goes anywhere. I would love it, but I feel like we need to assume he will be here next season.
4. I am not opposed to give Granlund another chance, but a buyout actually makes a lot of sense. $833k in year 1, $1.83M in years 2-3-4.
5. Zucker should be re-signed. He had an amazing year and brought so much energy to the top 6 and he deserves it.
6. As mentioned previously, we should sign a top dman. I would target Graves because of his size, but there are other options as well. With a new dman in, I would trade POJ for someone to help in our bottom 6. Some teams who I think would want POJ include FLA, NSH, SEA, TBL & CHI. From FLA, Duclair is an option. FROM NSH, Trenin is an option. From SEA, Geekie is an option. FROM TBL, Colton is an option. FROM CHI, Raddysh is an option.
7. I do think we need to add some youngsters to the lineup. Smith should be in on your bottom pairing. Puustinen or Nylander should find themselves on the 2nd/3rd line. I do not see both getting a spot, but who knows what could happen.
8. With the money from the Granlund buyout, I would target a 3C. My main options would be ROR, Compher, Domi, Toews, Staal or Haula.
9. Ideally, our next GM is one of Tulsky, Ventura, Karmanos, Dubas or Treliving.
10. I know some people have mentioned a rebuild, but there is no way this team should do that with the trio still here. If you commit to a rebuild, it is either because they somehow agreed to it or because they have been dealt. This team does have the opportunity to compete again if they do it right.
Buddy, I agree with a lot that you said…I think a new GM comes in and wants to shake it up slightly more than you state but it’s responsible what you said. My huge issue with this is you came into armchair gm and typed it all in like it’s twitter but then didn’t actually make the moves…. TF 😂

id like to see poeling in that 3rd line and maybe sign compher instead of ror by taking about 1m off of jarry or signing another goalie like varlamov for like 3.5m

I feel like Compher's AAV would be similar to ROR. Hard to see us affording Varlamov unless we take a cheaper C like Haula or Kampf.
