The Blues have there own cap issues and still need to sign Colton. Plus they have a number of younger defenseman they go with before trading for Emelin. Sure it's a nice package, just not something the Blues would do.

I think they're going to lose Perron to expansion freeing up 3.75 mil. That would give them about 8 mil in cap space assuming a 73 million cap. They'll get it done. But not if they take on a 4 million cap hit in Emelin and I'm not expert but Parayko > Emelin.
