Panarin Is a 1 trick pony and takes too much cap, Bailey make the cap work for the islanders and is gone after next year. How long do you think the kids are just gunna chill on the 3rd line before they request a trade

Why would the Rangers make this trade? Kreider would be the LW moved to create cap if anything, and i dont think either get moved. No need to sign Marc or Eric Staal when Zac Jones and Brennan Othmann are going to be signed and brought up, most likely one of Motte or Goodrow will be gone with Cuylle getting 4th line time next season. Plus Tarasenko getting 5 mil seems like an overpay, one of him or Kane will be negotiated into taking less.

There is no motive to do this, it’s a horrible trade.

Panarin is leading the Rangers in points why would he be traded as a cap casualty? One of Kreider,Trouba, Lindgren, Goodrow, etc would all be moved first but there's enough cap gymnastics that can be done to avoid losing the core group.

A 1 trick pony that averages 1.27 points per game as a Ranger and makes his line mates better as well. 62% corsi and fenwick this year and a 59% average for both as a Ranger. Cap hit aside, he is a major reason the Rangers are a playoff team last year and this one. One of the best LW's in the NHL. The kids will be very happy as 2nd line next season.

Because panarin is just lazy and doesn't back check or play any defense. Lindgren is a heart and soul guy, plus great friends with fix and fix is more important to the team than panarin. Trouba just got captain and he could go over panarin but I still think trouba is more value bringing good leadership. Kreider makes almost half panarin and can play a 200 foot game, also longest tenure rangers. So many Rangers fans just watch what panarin can do in the O zone but are completely blind when watching him in the D zone. Like people were blaming miller for the ot lose to STL (yes miller shouldn't have gone up like that) but panarin half back checks and instead of going to the guy he should've he try to tell trocheck too and he should've just done his part. IMO he's a lazy player unless he has the puck, exactly how Kane plays.

Panarin is not paid to be a 200 ft player, i understand you wish he would play harder defense but he actually did backcheck hard during the playoffs and really the regular season doesn't matter. Having 4 lines of players who grind isn't what any team needs, and Panarin is paid to put up points and he does. Next year I think Kreider moves to 3LW, Panarin plays next to Mika who is a hard working 200 ft guy and I think the kids move up and get 2nd line minutes.

it isnt even worth arguing, Panarin is a superstar and he wants him gone because of not backchecking hard enough in a random thursday night OT vs a non playoff team
