IMO, Galchenyuk played his best when he was the #1 center before his injury. Signing him longterm and giving him another real chance at #1C will give him confidence and bring his play back up. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Same goes for Beaulieu, 3.5 mil x 3 years, and partners with Weber will give him confidence to utilize his full skills. Last year was only his third year in the league, lots of good players breakout in their fourth year. IMO, he is better than Brodin and Hamonic and most of the other rumored dmen that are "available" or "potential fits." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know how realistic the Plekanec/Vegas deal is but it would help solve cap problems in this situation. I love Plekanec and what he has done for Habs but I think he needs to go to make room.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Emelin for Eakin makes sense for both team I think. Dallas needs defenseman and Emelin could be a step in that direction. Giving up Eakin frees up space for one of Faksa/Janmark/or Shore for DAL behind Spezza and Seguin. Eakin in MTL helps solidify center position and replace Plekanec. He had a down season last year but is capable of scoring 30-40 points and is only 26 so he can bounce back. Plus, much cheaper than Plekanec.----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am probably wishing really hard for this Radulov deal: 6.75mil x 5 years. Hopefully he wants to be in Montreal enough to take something like that
