the kane trade value i feel is pretty fair. although i could see krav + a first + jones being a lot. maybe a third that turns into a second if they win it

it's only gonna be one of those players if there is a condition for the 2nd to become a 1st

ah okay yeah that's pretty fair than. i think both sides can agree on the hawk's choice of one of those two players + a guaranteed second that could become a first

15 picks in this year's draft. 13 in next year's draft. But only 8 in 2025? Come on man! 😉

My expectation as a NYR fan is that it will be Kravtsov and two 2nd rounders. Just from Drury's history of TDL deals. If there is any condition (I have my doubts), after Boston loaded up it'll most likely be contingent on NYR making the cup finals or winning the cup and chicago gets either a 2023 or 24 1st rounder. If they get the 1st rounder, NYR keep both 2nds.

The thing most ppl aren't taking into consideration is that Kane is not a necessity for NYR-- he is a commodity. The absolute only way Kane goes to NYR is if he says "only NYR" which will significantly reduce the price. Keep in mind, NYR will also have to pay a third party to retain which will not be cheap due to the actual money owed to Kane (compared to the trades that have had double retention already this year). Lastly, one of Kravtsov or Leschyshyn will have to be waived/traded by the 26th in order to make the cap work out, with the Kane trade happening on TDL day. If this does not happen, Kane is not coming to NY as they cannot afford it at all.

yeah i completley agree. i also see them getting someone else from the hawks, because this is pretty much the last move they can make. im still annoyed they got motte, they could've gotten a better player for a little bit more for the same cap hit. he's a fourth liner. that's it. he overperformed a bit last year, but couldn't do anything in crunch time

For the cap hit there was not much else out there that was THAT cheap. They can't afford anyone else, if they acquire kane per the above they will only have 16k in cap space. Another roster player would also have to go.

I did take into account the fact that Kane is not a necessity for NYR and that the Hawks are going to be handcuffed by Kane only picking one place to go. At the end of the day, this is still Patrick Kane we are talking about (a much, much better player than Tarasenko). Kane's proven that he can still play at an extremely high level over the past 10 days. I think he's motivated to compete in the playoffs and make another run towards a stanley cup. His proven history with Panarin should have NYR drooling. At the end of the day, I think 2 middling prospects and a conditional second isn't a great return for the great american player of all time. I'm biased but I think this trade is a win-win for Kane, NYR, and Hawks.
