That Smid deal is just WOOF. For one, Smid isn't going to cost anything with the depth CGY has and Smid himself is nothing more than a 5/6 in his career. Why would the Bruins give up their top G spec along with two decent players in Trotman (who is more than likely going to get a good look on the D this year, and made very good strides last season) and Ferlin (who showed he was more than capable of being a solid bottom 6 forward in his short time with the big club) for one player (Smid) and a player that doesn't help at all? F+ on that deal
