Carolina fans, hear me out. I know you all regard Slavin as a core piece and rightfully so. He probably has more upside already than Hjalmarsson. However, your team would be gaining a highly regarded, stay at home guy who has incredible experience and a very nice cap hit for two more years. Plus, you also have a potential blue chip waiting in Charlotte in Fleury. This trade is basically a cap move by the Hawks but one that the Hurricanes would benefit from as well, I believe. (That's my story, at least, and I'm sticking to it!). Vegas is getting a bit of a journeyman who did have a pretty good breakout season and has a reasonable cap hit as well. (Chicago still needs to make moves to become cap compliant yet) this roster allows them to keep Panarin and land a top four dman in addition to the Rutta signing. Don't know if they are still a Cup contender or a well built playoff team. I know this group can skate tho and should be a high scoring team again. Thoughts?!
