Well, since Nashville really isn't going to contend with the roster they have, a move like this for the future would probably do them well. Alexeyev was a first round pick right? Not sure what his status is in terms of his potential right now, but if it's still first round pick level, then the Predators obviously win this one.

The Capitals are still in win now mode with Ovi and company, so McDonagh over Alexeyev, just right now anyway, might be a good move for them, with Nashville retaining 20% for 3 more years.. still, wonder if the Capitals will be able to manage their cap with McDonagh for 3 more years..
