half of who's contract?? Batherson has an amazing team friendly contract. Del Zotto only has a yr left and moving out Murray does NOT cost Batherson, especially in this tight of a goalie market. Taking Muzzin & Kerfoot is also doing Toronto a favor. This whole deal sucks for Ottawa

Muzzin would greatly help the Sens defence BUT moving Murray and getting Muzzin doesn't come close to Batherson. Team friendly deal, great scorer and likeable? Not happening.

Ottawa fans think they are going to just casually move 6+ million in cap from Murray for nothing. It's amazing

Id rather they retain 50% of Murray's contract then give away Batherson.
Whats really amazing is how much value TO fans think Muzzin & Kerfoot have, every Leaf ACGM is trying to trade them but yet they believe they are worth whatever player they want from any other team.

Kerfoot definetly has great value.

You wouldn't say Brown is worth less than a second and he put up 39 points in 64 games. Kerfoot put up 51 points in 82 games so same scoring pace and played less minutes 5v5, had less PP time and was a top PK guy for the Leafs who had one of the best PKs in the league. Not to mention his cap hit is lower and he is only owed a $750k salary this year. So logically if Brown is worth a second Kerfoot must be worth a first. Right?

Yeah who wouldn't want a 3.5 million dollar player who can play anywhere, killer penalties, play any forward position and score 35-50 points a season. That has no value. Or a 20+ minutes a night top 4 defenceman who is physical. No body ever wants that.

Batherson was on pace for a 90 point season before his injury while signed to one of the best contracts in the league... He's probably worth a similar or higher valuation to Nylander. This "trade proposal" makes 0 sense for OTT (only a leaf fan could make that far fetched of a proposal) they're not that desperate to get rid of a contract with 2 years left (who could be put on LTIR if he doesnt clear medical) while bringing in more hefty contracts. Lots of Kerfoot type players in the league and Muzzin isnt worth that price

I agree that Batherson is way too much of an ask for Murray however, it's going to cost Ottawa to move him. 50% retainment is an absolute must and then you will likely either have to take back a useless contract (not a cap dump but a prospect the Leafs know they won't use) and you may need to add a sweetener
