Détails additionnels:
canucks turn their 3rd into a 1st (20 OA) get a young dynamic forward with top 6 upside, and bring a young RHD prospect home. this checks every box in what the canucks are looking for in a miller trade and WSH has been discussed as a likely landing spot since caps are losing backstrom. canucks would now draft at 15 OA and 20OA, allowing them to leverage one of those picks to either trade down, or move for another assest (Marino, potentially Carlo as boston is rumoured to want to get back in to this first round. let me know what you think

I doubt McM is somebody they’d move at this point honestly. Good chance he’ll get 3C this year if they move Eller and he’s played great since getting called up. Underlying numbers are great and I just can’t see them moving a guy like him on elc. Lappy regressed a bit last year but still is seen as a really good prospect I believe.

both check canucks boxes as to what they are looking for so really comes down to how both orgs view the players

Given the news today about Backstrom coming back at some point during the season, as well as MacLellans other comments on the team for next year, I think McMichael is completely off limits -- he (and Fehervary) are too important as young guys on ELCs that have already established themselves as good NHL players.

A Miller trade still makes some sense to me as they could fit him in and wait on an extension until they have more clarity on Backstrom, especially if the canucks will retain. That being said, I think it limits what the caps are willing to give up for someone who could end up being just a one year rental. 20oa is still very much in play -- that pick won't make a difference in the NHL for at least 3 years if you're lucky. Iorio and Lapierre I think will as well given Iorio definitely and Lapierre most likely will need at least a year in the AHL to develop. IMO Iorio's best case scenario is a 2nd pair puck mover that can play on the PK but not the PP, and he is relatively likely to hit that. Lapierre is riskier -- he did regress in the Q last year but was good enough to make the NHL roster out of camp. My guess as to what the most the caps would be willing to offer for Miller with no retention is 20oa, 46oa, and one of Lapierre or Iorio. Probably doesn't get Miller at this point, but don't think they go any higher.

firstly, canucks defiently have the ability to retain if that drives up the price. and i dot hate the value with the 20 OA, 46OA coming back, however i would much rather target a Lapierre Iorio combo as the canucks are looking for guys to step in the league sooner rather than later. Iorio as a 2nd pair, PK, puck mover (with high likely hood of filling that potential) is damn near exactly what the canucks would want. already have the PP dmen sorted out for the next five years so dont really need a guy who fills that role.

Yea definitely makes sense. I guess my read as to what Maclellan is willing to do is that 2 of 20oa, Iorio, and Lapierre are in play, as well as the usual 2nds and 3rds and fringe prospects to grease the deal. With how he talked at the press conference today though, thats probably about it
