Description

Trade values might be one round shy or one round too high for some peoples' tastes but I think they're within the realm of reason.

Overall, the aim was to get EDM younger and more physical while also getting out of LTIR reliance and setting the team up for the contending window that they should have between now and the end of McDavid and Draisaitl's contracts.

Tough to get a read on what Kane's trade value would be in the event of the reinstatement of his contract and 3-team trade clause, but I decided to assume a relatively high cost.

Running a Skinner/Allen tandem has some risks but it gives EDM a chance to see what they have in Skinner without banking everything on him or committing to an expensive, long-term solution this year. If it goes poorly, an in-season trade or a UFA in 2023 can address that hole.

I think Allen to EDM makes a ton of sense...but i think we would look to move into the 1st rd there...Allen 1/2 Retained (mid-late 2nd rd value) + Pick #62 + #92 for pick #29

Hmm, so you're effectively proposing to skip the extra step of the ARI trade down and just including it as part of the Allen deal? If that's the case, I can see that being reasonable value but I'd likely want one of the higher 3rds as I'd be dropping down quite far in the draft order.

i think it makes a ton of sense from both sides...replacing Koskinen for essentially 1/4 of the price should give some cap breathing room and a better 1B goalie...Habs will not be making 14 picks in the draft and EDM only has 4 picks

Petrov and a 1st for Kane is painful to read. Otherwise this looks pretty reasonable for next season. That Nurse cap hit is roster crushing and will take an enormous effort to overcome to keep the club competitive.
