Please explain "legit proof". Like, you want some advanced stats from someone you don't know to explain why he selected the 10 goalies he did? That's some high maintenance stuff. Or, we can just assume that Mrazek, Grubs, Murray and Holtby are as good as Vas, Shester, Saros and Price because you didn't get a complex explanation why he selected the 10 goalies he did.

Haha. I just don't think he is. Why do you think this? I like Lilly. BUT...What I witnessed from the moment Lyubushkin arrived in Toronto was a physical presence and stability as a 5/6 dman that we haven't seen until then. Aside from Muzzin, he's the only other strong net presence dman in the lineup. He made life difficult for opposing wingers in his own zone. In the corners and in front of our own net. He was able to move pucks up and out of the zone. He even showed flashes of offence in the first round. He played great against Tampa. Where was Lilly? That's right, not playing.

Leafs dominated play with Lilly on the ice. Lyubushkin was a hot mess for the most part. He was playing well above his head so I don't blame him personally.

Lilly in the other hand moved the puck like a surgeon, contributed offensively consistently and had very impressive defensive numbers. Especially when paired with Rielly. But made all of his partners better. Other than points he led leafs Dmen in nearly every metric.

Thing is, I don't disagree with you on Lilly. He's good. I disagree with your assessment on Lyubushkin. I saw things differently there. He just brings an element the d core needs. Lilly doesn't bring that. I'm not even confident either player will actually be with the Leafs next season. Do the Leafs qualify Lilly and risk going to arbitration with him? I don't like that really. I'd rather option Sandin, sign Lyubushkin to a low aav cap hit for 2-3 years, let Lilly walk to UFA, and give Niemela a chance on RD throughout the season at a lower cap hit than Lilly. AGAIN, I like Lilly, but I think we have too many guys like him that are better at what he provides. We need a solid mix of defensive attributes, not all finesse.

I could name plenty of better goalies but the easiest one is Ilya Sorokin. How is he not better than like half the goalies you named?

Anything. I’m looking for any proof. If there is any stat or anything that proves Gibson, Bobrovsky, and Hart are top 10 goalies rn I am welcome to the evidence and am always willing to learn. But a baseless take can’t be taken seriously, especially ones where the stats point so heavily against it
