Because in this mock offseason, Mikheyev gets a better offer from elsewhere (you will see when CapFriendly allows me to post the Edmonton page) and Engvall's performance 15G 35pts is worth $2.85MM especially when taking into account that free agency years are being purchased.)

Lilly doesn’t sign that
And that Campbell deal will cost us a first to get rid of him in a year or 2 this mock offseason needs to be re done

Liljegren doesn't have arb rights so if he doesn't want to sign a short bridge contract with a decent raise... tough luck for him.
Kase has not proven he can stay healthy as an NHL player and in my opinion he would take that contract to remain in Toronto where he has proven to be a great fit.
Campbell may not be the goalie you'd want to see, but it's clear the players and front office in Toronto really like him, so I don't believe that this is an unreasonable deal when taking into account that it is a generally thin goaltending class.

Tough luck for him so you lose your best rd prospect great idea
And kase He definitely would not take that he’s in it for the money especially if he has injury issues lmao he’s not gonna take a discount if he gets hurt he’s on ltir so it don’t matter bout his cap
You don’t think the leafs and front office liked Freddy he was best buds with matthews that 6 year deal is actually sickening

I mean you legit wouldn't lose him he would basically have to sign that deal or accept his qualifying offer to play in the NHL. I don't get how a deal for a goalie who has played among the best in the NHL since arriving in Toronto (save for a small stretch this season) is sickening when it's only $6MM. Especially when the cap rises in a few years, just as Matthews and Marner need new deals and JT will be off the books, that won't be an insane deal.

I think everyone would love a nice 35 year old jack Campbell at 6 mill cmon we need a good youth goalie not someone going to the retirement home and end of prime and also no one’s taking holl for a 3rd

I disagree, I do not think the Maple Leafs can afford to trust an unproven young goalie (or afford the asset cost acquiring one of the incredibly rare and valuable proven young goalies) with how important the next few seasons are for them. Also remember how goalies age. 35 years old is hardly the end of the road for many goalies, Tim Thomas was in his prime and the Oilers are off to the WCF with a 40-year old goalie. The Campbell contract is a lot more reasonable than you're making it seem.

I strongly disagree I’m not committing that term and money on a goalie that has had 1 good year and has been proven to not step up in the playoffs and is 30 not gonna happen bye bye soup mark my words
