OK I figure it's time to tear it down a bit. The problem is we can't get rid of the Sedins. They don't want to leave and have earned the right to retire lifetime Canucks.

The Erickson trade happens after July 1st when he gets a 7mil bonus payment. This leaves 5 years and 21 million left in actual money left on his deal including a 1mil salary next yeari which sn't terrible for a budget team like New Jersey looking for offense.

Tanev is a good defenseman in the beginning of his prime on a good contract and buffalo is a team that is close and doesn't need more prospects.

Weal is from Vancouver and a young ufa. He'd have a shot on this team

They probably draft the top center left on their list with 5 pick and a RHD with the 8 pick

Hopefully you can move Elder at the deadline to a contender in need of d and maybe with some luck Sutter will play well enough to make him tradeable like Burrows did.

This is a young team that's going to struggle but have some vets to rely on with 2 top 10 picks and the 33rd overall and maybe Columbus's 2nd growing in Jr as well as Dahlen, Milano and Demko leading Utica. They will struggle and find themselves in the lottery again but if they truly are good drafters they should have built a very deep prospect pool by then
