As much as I'd like Detroit's first next year and have a chance at Dahlin I wouldn't do this as we want to win now and we won't do that by making our d worse for Nyquist who doesn't even fit in our lineup. Detroit doesn't have assets that Winnipeg would have to get to make a Trouba trade happen (LHD).

I tend to agree with the the 2018 pick. For some reason I couldn't select the 2017 (this year's) 1st Round pick with this Armchair. That's really what I was trying to accomplish with the Trouba trade. I doubt the Jets can afford Trouba's next contract in the summer 2018. That being said, the current problem I see with the Jets is they cannot protect all four of Myers, Byfuglien, Enstrom and Trouba for the Vegas draft. They may as well get something for their cheapest top-4 D.
