I have no idea what the value for Barzal is. I'm not going to pretend that I watch islanders games. It was rumored that at the deadline Yzerman made a fair deal to the islanders for Barzal and I'm trying to get some opinions on what that trade might look like. I'm sure I'm way off here so all opinions are welcomed.

The value for Barzal is much higher. If bertuzzi was in the package it would be like him, 2 firsts, and a second.

I'm sure Detroit offered more than that.

The theme from the first two pages was that Wings fans were undervaluing Barzal and seemed to think the trade would be Bert, 2022 first, and Veleno/Zadina/Rasmussen. I'd accept that trade in a heartbeat.

Then the more I read, people started jumping off the deep end by suggesting Edvinsson and MORE would need to be thrown in.

So pretty much all I've learned is that we're all crazy, it's just a question of how over or undervalued Barzal is, or how short-sighted / old-fashioned the armchair GM is (in regards to trading Edvinsson just because he has zero games played).

Either way, your proposal is significantly too low. NYI fans would riot.

Edit: Guess I never really offered my suggestion. It's difficult for me or anyone to figure this trade out given I have no idea what NYI are going to do... they've underperformed this year and are very old. It's feeling more and more like a rebuild is coming, but I'd be surprised if Barzal was sold off. Either way, Yzerman will almost certainly have to trade for his 2C at this point. Getting too close to contending to hope Detroit will find this center in the draft - despite many fans still adamantly believing we'll pull it off. I'd like to think Yzerman is more realistic.
