As many of you guys know, Tyler Motte is in a contract year and poised to enter unrestricted free agency status. As I am writing this, Motte is poised to return to the Canucks lineup after undergoing surgery in the off-season. He is arguably one of the best bottom-of-the-lineup players not just on the Canucks, but maybe in the entire league, with his combination of speed and tenacity that he plays with. It's got me thinking what kind of money he could ask for on his next contract

I'm thinking Motte will get at least three years worth of term, maybe as many as five years if he plays exceptionally well this season. I'm thinking the AAV could be between 1.45 and 1.85 million
