We need Hughes

I think P.k. Subban and Tyler Myers feels like it should be a seperate trade on its own ....I understand why everyone thinks Hughes should go to jersey to play with his brother's but I don't think he is going anywhere . I like there is a player , top prospect and a high pick but I would be asking for Ty Smith , throw him in and I don't hate it for Vancouver.

If you are trading Quinn Hughes to New Jersey then Ty Smith needs to be coming back as he is already a good young defenseman on his ELC and the Devils have to know that Ty Smith is the starting point for Hughes and want to try and get Holtz and Bahl by telling the Devils they wouldn’t have to give up their 1st round pick in the Shane Wright draft and the Devils still have Foote, Sharangovich, Mercer, Stillman so they still have lots of good young forwards in their system.

I suggested this trade because the Canucks need to defend better and Graves is a good defensive defenceman. Hughes is great offensively but sort off sucks defensively. I am hoping OEL and Rathbone can take up the slack offensively. Myers for Subban is a wash except that the Canucks would clear 9 milion in cap space next year with which to resign Boeser and whoever else they might need. If Subban plays well they could resign him for 4 to 5 million for a couple of years. Mercer will be a solid bottom 6 NHL'er one day and next years draft is deep so any first round pick should have a good chance of being a NHL'er. It also provides Vancouver enough cap space to sign Pettersen long term, 8 x 9mill?
