I have Podkolzin, Hoglander and Rathbone in Abby before the season starts. I fully expect all three to make the team, and be called up before the first game, and have other players at lower cap hits be sent done. This can't happen until Ferland is placed on LTIR.

Waiting to do this allows us to increase the value of RFA contracts to Petey, Hughes and to a lesser extent Dickinson and maximize how much of Ferland's 3.5 can be captured.

Oskar Sundqvist's last contract is the comparable for Dickinson's new contract. Also looked at Andrew Copp's last one and Erik Haula's 2017 three year deal.

This left 14.8 M for our two best RFAs, and we want to use all of it to maximize the benefit of Ferland's LTIR. I wanted Petey to match or slightly exceed Boeser's Qualifying Offer and gave the rest to Hughes. I don't think that is enough to sign either long term. I think Hughes is more likely to take a long term deal. If Petey takes less, than Canucks can go long on Hughes. My two choices are:
Petey 3 X 6.8
Hughes 6 X 8
or
Petey 3 X 7.6 (slightly more than Baral got on his)
Hughes 3 X 7.2 (I could see this being 4 or 5 as it is more than previous bridge deals to Werenski and McAvoy).

Before the first game:
- Ferland is transferred to LTIR
- Two of Bailey, Highmore and DiGuiseppe (based on training camp performance) are sent down and Hoglander and Podkolzin are brought up.
- Rathbone is likely brought up as well, and maybe another forward on a minimum contract. It has to be 750 K and it could be one of the three that were mentioned as being sent down.
