-If they sign Yamo to a 2-year deal for $1.84M that would allow them to keep Turris on the roster on day one and maximize their salary cap. Then burying Turris in the minors would give them $1.1M in cap space to operate during the season.
-I think Kassian will move up and down the right side depending on how he is playing. I believe the team wants/needs to spark him early so they will start him 2nd or third line. He could even see some time on the first line.. that is a playoff option for sure.
-My guess is they start Ryan at 3C because he's right-shot and can win faceoffs. Also has better scoring potential right now than McLeod. A Foegele - Ryan - Kassian line (FoRK line?) should be a significant upgrade over any combination of Neal-Ennis-Nygard-Turris-Khaira-Haas-Chaisson-Archibald last year.
-I believe the 4LW spot will be a battle between Shore, Benson, Turris, and maybe Perlini. I hope Benson wins and I think he will have a good shot, playing with his AHL linemate in McLeod. They tore it up together with the Condors last year. Love to see them get a chance.
-They probably start Holloway in the AHL to start the season. But I wouldn't be surprised to see him make the jump if there are injuries, or mid-way through the season for performance.
-HOT TAKE: With Nurse's new contract coming in 22/23 What if the Oilers trade Yamamoto and Koskinen at the deadline to Seattle for Dreidger and a 4th (CGY) round pick? Yamo is born in Spokane and played his junior hockey there for the Chiefs. In that scenario you could shift Hyman to RW and bring up Holloway.
-I think Bouchard will move ahead of Ceci by January. By next season he may be ready for top pairing with Nurse.
-HOT TAKE #2: Klefbom plays 3LD the last 2 weeks of season and playoffs.
