That's a really poor return for Rielly... Puljujarvi's stats are boosted from playing with McDavid just like Kassian and Chiasson's were.

Dougie gets more. Seth Jones got 9.5Mx8. Hamilton gets at least 9Mx7.

I agree about Reilly. Likely get a first back as well. Jones had the advantage of being traded for. Huge leverage. No way Hamilton gets more than Pietrangelo got imo. And everybody seems to agree 8aav about right. Meant to put 7 years.

Hamilton is 2 years younger than Pietrangelo. If Pietrangelo took a 5 year deal I'm sure he gets 10M or more.

Pietrangelo got less cause his contract ends when he is 37 years old.

Yes so the difference is 2 of the years Hamilton is 28 and 29 years old vs Pietrangelo being 36 and 37 years old.

Hamilton doesn't get less than Pietrangelo because more of the years of his contract he will be in his prime.

We'll see. All the projections have him a shade under 8. Can't imagine they're off by that much.

Yep. I guess we'll just have to wait to find out. Imo I feel like elite defencemen are underpaid compared to elite forwards.

Agree defencemen are undervalued. It seems like a market inefficiency that smart teams should take advantage of. Pay for 6 elite D and play each 20 minutes per game. With 2 good but not elite goalies.

I think 4 elite D is enough. They can play 22-23 minutes per game each.

Only if the 3rd pair is still top 4 guys you'd be happy to roll against Mcjesus or anybody else at any time.
