Did I miss a rumor that Philly is looking to move Giroux? You guys would be pretty scary with him centering your first line...

No-I just think Flyers fan are getting frustrated and looking to make a change. Most of their top prospects are a few years away from being good NHL players and the gap between the ages of their veterans like Giroux, Voracek and Simmons may be too much to be a contender

Do you mean you don't think it's a fair trade or just don't like bringing in a UFA for a prospect? I like the trade because to me we're moving a similar player (once hes developed) for a guy who can really help right now (faceoffs/size/general offense). It's a question of where you see McCarron in a couple years and if we should wait for that to happen, I see him as a 3rd line center and that's it (and I hold out that he'll have the speed to be a significant one at that). Whereas Hanzal is young enough to be a real promise at the position if he can be resigned for reasonable amount, to me our only hope on that is he has success here and wants to stay (not outside the realm of possibility as he has committed this long to the 'yotes). Otherwise he asks for something around 5 mil a year for 4-6 and we let him walk, can't afford unless we moved Pleky.
