NYR most likely pass on the deangelo deal. They are looking to be playoff bound and will be looking to aqcuire a 2nd line centre and 4th/5th LD to finish their roster. Keeping 2m while the free agency this year is big isn't likely an option. As they will be looking to add pieces and not eat anymore cap while buying him out only is a 600k penalty rn.

Yeah I figured they’d most likely buy him out but I couldn’t do that on here lol, but anyway I’d try to sign him for around 2mill, I just made the trade and tried to make it sorta worth it

There's no need to trade for Deangelo. NY is going to buy him out. The question is why so many Habs fans seem to want this guy? He's getting bought out because he was so toxic that not only did the Rangers want him out of their room, they couldn't find any team in the league willing to take him on waivers or in trade; they couldn't even find an AHL team to loan him to. I can't understand why people think bringing this guy into the Habs locker room is a good idea.

And, as good as Makar is, I can't imagine anyone giving up 4 1st round picks for one player.

If you look above I mentioned that it would be a buyout sign but I can’t buy him out from the rangers on here. A one year contract at 2 million literally couldn’t hurt us, if he turns back into the player he was and fixes his attitude it could be a good thing. Weber will most likely still be in the room even if he isn’t playing and I guarantee he’d keep him in check so it could work out, trial runs are a thing and if it doesn’t work out it doesn’t hurt us, yeah 4 1sts is a lot but he’s gonna be a top 4 defence man in the league for the next 10 years We won’t pick someone up like that anytime soon in a draft
