Haha, but for real, I like some of these moves. Danault is going to want so much more. That being said, I would probably make the Islanders retain, or have them find a team to retain for them which would allow the Blues to not buyout. That would allow them to give Danault the money he wants.

I also think Tatar comes cheaper then 5 just because he was sat in the playoffs, even though he is a very very solid middle 6 winger. Maybe sign him for like 3.75, move Bortuzzo and improve that 3rd d-pairing...

I think Danault would like the contract for the term. I also think Tatar might take less for the reasons you stated but I know he is worth $5M. Palat actually seems like a perfect fit for that line so I want him, and I don’t think he would cost an arm and a leg because of their cap situation.
