Description
Listen as a leafs fan, this is now our 4th consecutive year missing the playoffs. something major needs to addressed. A major move needs to be Made not only to make the fans believe again , but to make it so we have a better suited team for playoffs. When I watch the maple leafs, I see softness. I see a lack of heart and passion. I want to see physicality. There needs to be a culture shift here and I think Tkachuck can be that missing piece. not only is he skilled, he's a pest , and he's tough as nails. He's like a way better version of Darcy Tucker in my opinion . Mathhews doesn't need marner, he's a threat no matter what.

Tkachuk is not going anywhere unless its for a 1C. Coleman wants to play in the States. I don't understand why the Leafs would want Lucic. Hamilton is not signing for that cheap he is looking for at least 8 mill per year. Oleksiak is only signing that contract if its Dallas.

MT has more value than Marner, flames decline, they not stupid enough to trade 2 players that make less than marner and score more than him, flames would not even do a 1 for 1.

but yes leafs need a MT type player, and a whole lot more too.

Actually he does. Flames need right handed wingers. Marner is a 90 point player. I don’t think one ****ty playoff round decreases his value.

I don’t want Tkachuk and his pissy attitude. I doubt the flames will trade him… but they should before his 9m QO kicks in and he walks to ufa.

Did you call MT and confirm everything , or was it the GM that you just got off the phone with. Everybody thinks they have the answers and know everything . Marners better than tkachuck not even debatable .

A rumor being thrown around by Shane O'Brien who has no reputable sources doesn't mean anything and also the rumor was shot down by someone who actually covers the Flames on a day to day basis. My point is Matthews can also leave in 3 years as well to. Shane O'Brien is still bitter about getting waived many seasons ago.

His contract is not a rumour… Tkachuk signed it himself. I have no ****ing clue what you are talking about.

I am not a Flames fan first of all. Tkachuk brings more to the lineup that's why Leafs fan continue to trade for him. Marner total playoff points > Tkachuk total playoff points, I agree with you. Again, its not about points all the time and Leaf fans should know that now. A 10 million winger who has not scored a playoff goal since 2018/19 season is not acceptable.

Why wouldn't the Flames not want to sign him and pay up? they will have plenty of cap space to do so. If he wants out or requests trade that is a different story. Also, if he wants out I don't think he would have any interest playing for a team that can't get past the 1st round.

I’m a leafs and flames fan. Leafs fans are idiots who think they see something shiny.

Tkachuk makes 7m this year and 9m next year and is ufa. He has been invisible in the playoffs and for long stretches during the regurular season when he is not throwing temper tantrums.

If Tkachuk wants to be the captain of any team he needs to grow up. Sure he has the tools but he doesn’t use them properly. If I’m trading marner it’s for a player that can help in the playoffs. And believe me I would love to trade marner.

I think the contract speaks for itself. 7m, 9m ufa. Sure the flames can re sign him. But J don’t think the contract will be very attractive.

I agree its a lot of money for a winger, but he is there franchise player so they got to pay him even if the contract might turn out to be bad.
